Man Utd Star Makes Big Benni Admission

A Manchester United midfielder has made a big admission following Benni McCarthy's departure from the club at the end of last season.

The former Cape Town City and AmaZulu head coach departed the Red Devils at the end of his contract, which was not extended after the arrival of the club's new minority ownership group INEOS.

McCarthy was considered a favourite among the players at United's Carrington training ground before his deal expired, with Christian Eriksen proving as much with his latest comments on the changes to Erik ten Hag's staff.

Following the South African out of Old Trafford was now-former assistant manager Mitchell van der Gaag. They have been replaced by ex-United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake, both of whom will act as assistants to Ten Hag.

"They are just two more Dutch people," Eriksen said, according to Manchester Evening News.

"I've only been back for three sessions of training so it's difficult to see what their impact really is. Obviously, it's different faces and different personalities walking around on the pitch.

"In terms of taking training and the sessions, it's more or less the same. It's the same manager so a lot of the training is similar.

"I was sad to see Benni (McCarthy) and Mitchell (van der Gaag) leave. I had a good relationship with both of them and they are both incredible guys. It's tough, but with Ruud and Rene, I'm sure it's going to go well."

McCarthy leaves United having been a part of their Carabao Cup success in the 2022/23 campaign and their FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City in May.
