Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney reportedly tried to sign former Orlando Pirates man Marshall Munetsi in January, with two Premier League clubs also interested in his services.
According to French publication RMC Sport h/t GFFN, the Derby County boss attempted to sign the Stade Reims player on the last day of the January transfer window.
Two more teams in England – West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United – were also reportedly chasing the former Buccaneer in January.
Munetsi, however, remains a Reims player, with whom he has a contract until 2024 and for whom he has been impressing since his switch from Pirates.
