Paris Saint-Germain look to be closing in on their second signing ahead of the 2020/21 campaign having reportedly agreed a €70 million (R1.2 billion) deal for an Inter Milan star.
Morocco international Achraf Hakimi has been linked with moves to both Chelsea and PSG over the past couple months, but it seems the French outfit have won the race for the fullback.
According to ESPN, PSG will pay the Nerazzurri up to €70 million for the 22-year-old, who is set to sign a five-year deal in the French capital.
Hakimi played a key role as Inter claimed their first Serie A title since the 2009/10 season, contributing with seven goals and 10 assists in 37 league appearances in the 2020/21 campaign.
With Les Parisiens having already secured Georginio Wijnaldum's signature after the Dutchman left Liverpool, it is believed the Moroccan fullback was a priority target for PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino and sporting director Leonardo going into the new campaign.
It is further claimed that Hakimi had already agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 side more than a month ago, and that the player himself has been pushing for the move.
Should the deal goal through, Hakimi will become the second most expensive fullback in history, behind the €80 million (R1.3 billion) Bayern Munich splashed out on France star Lucas Hernandez in 2019.
