Olympique Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has revealed why he rejected the chance to join Mikel Arteta's Arsenal in this transfer window.
'I Think Guardiola Will Leave City In 2021'
The 22-year-old creative midfielder was seemingly poised to join the Gunners before the transfer window closed, but will instead be remaining in Ligue 1 with Lyon.
Following their 1-1 draw with Olympique Marseille on Sunday night, Aouar said he decided to stay in France as he still has a lot to offer his current team.

"(Why did I make) my choice to stay in Lyon?" he said, according to Goal.
"I felt that I could still bring something to this team and to this club.
"That's why I have made the choice to continue my adventure with Lyon. I hope we will get up and find our form again quickly."

Aouar is set to feature for France's senior side for the first time in the upcoming international break, having previously represented Les Bleus at youth level.
