Former Real Madrid striker Jese Rodriguez has left Paris Saint-Germain after his contract was terminated six months before it was due to expire.
The 27-year-old leaves PSG after four years, during which he made only 18 appearances for the French giants.
Les Parisiens confirmed the news on Sunday after the player had taken a controversial trip to the Canary Islands last month, during which he was seen breaking COVID-19 protocols, which was said to be the final straw for the Ligue 1 champions.
Rodriguez was pictured partying with some friends and ignoring social distancing rules, while no one present appeared to be wearing face masks.
"Paris Saint-Germain and Jese have agreed to terminate the player's contract, which expires on 30 June 2021," the club wrote in a statement on its official website.
"Aged 27, the native of Las Palmas (Canary Islands) arrived in Paris during the summer of 2016. In the Red and Blue jersey, Jese will have played 18 games and scored 2 goals, in all competitions, winning 1 Championship of France (2020), 1 Coupe de la Ligue (2017) and 1 Champions Trophy (2017).
"Paris Saint-Germain wish Jese the best in the rest of his professional career."
