Neymar: Why I Extended My Contract With Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has explained why he extended his contract with the club despite being heavily linked with FC Barcelona.

The Brazilian put an end to any speculation surrounding his future after signing a new four-year extension on Saturday.

There was a bit of uncertainty if the forward would sign after the links with the Catalan giants, but the 29-year-old says Maurichio Pochettino and the club's future is the reason he extended.

"It is a great happiness to extend the adventure at Paris Saint-Germain," Neymar told the club's official website.

"I am very happy in Paris.

"It is a real pride to be part of this group, to work with these players, this great coach and to be part of the history of this club. These are things that make me believe even more in this great project.

"Here I have grown as a person, as a human being and as a player, too. So I'm very happy to extend and I hope to win many more trophies here."
