Mauricio Pochettino Replies To Reports Linking Zinedine Zidane To The Paris Saint-Germain Job

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has responded to reports that Zinedine Zidane could be his successor in the French capital.

The Argentine was recently asked on Thursday about the three-time UEFA Champions League-winning coach being rumoured to be set to take over from him at PSG.

"Zidane is a great coach, that's for sure. Also, he is French..."

Pochettino's future in Paris has been questioned more frequently ever since PSG's round of 16 exit from the Coupe de France two weeks ago, a competition they had won seven out of eight seasons before their penalty shootout loss to Nice.

Couple that with the persistent rumours about him joining Manchester United at the end of the season and it appears that the 49-year-old's future lies away from the Parc des Princes, with the PSG hierarchy seemingly already having a suitable replacement in mind.

Reports suggest that Zidane is the man Les Parisiens want if Pochettino leaves, with the French giants dreaming of capturing their maiden Champions League trophy.

Having had a nine-month hiatus from football management, the Frenchman may relish a fresh challenge in his native France.

His experience of managing Real Madrid's "Galacticos" would also likely serve him well in a PSG dressing room featuring the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
