Sergio Ramos' time at Paris Saint-Germain has not gone to plan and Mauricio Pochettino has explained why he left the Spaniard out of the starting line-up for their previous Ligue 1 encounter.
The Spanish defender has only made three appearances for the French club this season after joining from Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Ramos was an unused substitute in their 1-1 draw against Olympique Lyon, with Pochettino opting for Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe, while fellow defender Thilo Kehrer was also introduced in the second half.
The Argentine tactician admits there is a lot of competition places in the current squad.
"He is fine, it was a decision not to play him today," Pochettino told Amazon Prime Sport after the game.
"We play with four defenders. There is a lot of competition for everyone.
"I hope he can play the next matches. The decision was to play with Marquinhos and Kimpembe."
