Lionel Messi recovered a from a knock to take his place in the attack alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, while Sergio Ramos kept his spot on the bench.

The champions got off to the perfect start when Marquinhos nodded home a pin-point cross from Angel Di Maria, which gave the Troyes defenders no chance.

PSG thought they had secured a third goal eight minutes before the break when Neymar slotted home after Messi strike the upright, however the Brazilian's strike was ruled out for an offside.

Six minutes after the interval, Troyes were awarded a penalty of their own for Kimpembe's foul on Renaud Ripart. Florian Tardieu stepped up and converted with a Panenka to restore parity.

Mauricio Pochettino's men had another goal disallowed after the hour mark after Mbappe was judged to have fouled Palmer-Brown before Neymar found the back of the net.

The hosts responded with a double change for the final 15 minutes, with Idrissa Gueye and Georginio Wijnaldum replacing Mendes and Marco Verratti.

Messi almost snatched the winning goal for PSG in second-half stoppage time after combining with Wijnaldum, but his shot clipped the top of the crossbar as the spoils were shared in the French capital.
