Ligue 1 Report: Paris Saint-Germain v Rennes 07 November 2020

Result: Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 Rennes

Date: 07 November 2020

Venue: Parc de Princes

Paris Saint-Germain eased to victory without Neymar and Kylian Mbappe with a 3-0 win over Rennes in Ligue 1 action on Saturday night.

Thomas Tuchel was without the services Neymar and Mbappe, as Florenzi and Moise Kean joined Angel di Maria in the attack.

Even without their star duo, PSG took the lead in the 11th minute as Keane continued his purple patch with a neat finish into the bottom corner after some good work by Di Maria.

The lead was doubled 10 minutes with Di Maria getting on the score-sheet with an impressive lob over Gomes after being slipped in on goal by Ander Herrera.

After losing Idrissa Gueye to injury earlier in the half, PSG were forced into another first-half change as Thilo Kehrer sustained an injury and was replaced by Mitchel Bakker.

Rennes showed a little more fight in the second half as Clement Grenier went closest with an effort from distance just before the hour mark.

However, PSG regained their dominance and added a third goal in the 73rd minute through Di Maria, who completed his brace with another composed left-footed finish.

Tuchel's charges were unable to add to their tally in the latter stages, as three goals in the French capital were enough to send the side five points clear at top of the table.
