Result: Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 OGC Nice
Date: 13 February 2021
Venue: Parc des Princes
Paris Saint-Germain moved top of the Ligue 1 table with a 2-1 victory over Nice at the Parc des Princes on Saturday evening.
The defending league champions were without the services of Neymar, who is set to miss the next four weeks of action with an injury.
After a couple half chances in the opening 15 minutes, the hosts broke the deadlock on 24 minutes as Neymar's replacement, Julian Draxler, fired home the opening goal after Mauro Icardi's strike had hit the upright.
PSG were presented with another chance on 39 minutes when Leandro Paredes sent an inviting ball into the box to find Mbappe, who saw his volley saved by Benitez.
Nice had a chance of their own three minutes later as Rony Lopes picked out Myziane Maolida on the edge of the box, but the French forward sent his effort over the crossbar.
The visitors carried that momentum into the second half and found the equaliser as Lopes drilled the ball beyond Keylor Navas from close range.
Nice nearly found themselves ahead on the hour mark when Maolida picked out Gouiri, who saw his effort crash against the crossbar.
However, PSG got the next goal with 14 minutes left on the clock as Moise Kean nodded home a cross from Icardi for his 10th league goal of the season.
The visiting side were unable to restore parity for a second time as PSG held on for the spoils to move top of the table, although Lille will reclaim top position with a win on Sunday.
