Ligue 1 Report: Nimes v Paris Saint-Germain 16 October 2020

Result: Nimes 0-4 Paris Saint-Germain

Date: 16 October 2020

Venue: Stade des Costières

Paris Saint-Germain moved top of Ligue 1 after thrashing Nimes 4-0, with Kylian Mbappe netting a brace on Friday night.

With Neymar, Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria missing through injury, there were debuts for Rafinha and Moise Kean in the attack.

The hosts were dealt a blow after just 12 minutes when Loïck Landre was shown a straight red card for catching Rafinha in the chest with a dangerous challenge.

The deadlock was eventually broken in the 32nd minute as Rafinha played a fine ball for Mbappe to latch onto before the Frenchman rounded Baptiste Reynet to slot into an empty net.

PSG continued to threaten for more goals but Reynet produced a few fine saves to keep out Kean and Idrissa Gueye in the final 10 minutes of the stanza.

The battle continued in the second half as Mbappe was played through on goal once again but Reynet was on hand to keep the scoreline to one with a fine save on 50 minutes.

When Reynet was beaten, the woodwork came to Nimes' rescue as right-back Alessandro Florenzi saw his volley crash against the upright.

Florenzi was not to be denied with 13 minutes remaining as the Italian had the simple task of firing home from close range after Pablo Sarabia's knockdown.

Mbappe managed to complete his brace in the 83rd minute with a finish similar to his first goal after being slipped in by Sarabia.

Sarabia managed to get on the scoresheet himself five minutes later with a neat finish from close range to go along with his two assists as PSG moved to of the table.
