Neymar

Ligue 1

Result: Bordeaux 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain

Date: 28 September 2019

Venue: Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux

Neymar bagged his third goal in four Ligue 1 appearances to guide Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-0 win over Bordeaux on Saturday evening.

Neymar continued in the attack for Thomas Tuchel, while Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi and Ander Herrera were named on the bench for the encounter as PSG looked to bounce back from the shock loss to Reims.   The visitors thought they had taken the lead on 10 minutes through Pablo Sarabia, but the Spaniard's strike was ruled out for an offside.   The Ligue 1 champions continued pressing for the opener and went close on 29 minutes as Angel di Maria saw his attempted lob turned away by the Bordeaux shot-stopper.   Bordeaux, meanwhile, found it tough to get out of their own half as PSG shot-stopper Keylor Navas endured a quiet opening 45 minuets between the sticks.   As the visitors continued to struggle in the final third, Tuchel withdrew Sarabia for Mbappe on the hour mark in an attempt to break the deadlock.   The change certainly paid off as Mbappe turned provider and picked out Neymar, who fired into the bottom corner for his third goal in four games this season.   Mbappe nearly got a goal of his own after being played in by Marco Verratti, but the French World Cup winner saw his attempted chip kept out by Benoît Costil.   PSG were unable to add to their tally in the latter stages, but they weren't troubled at the other end as the encounter finished 1-0.
