Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol recently stated that he is convinced Mbappe's move to Los Blancos has already been agreed.
News that the France sensation has asked one of his representatives to find a suitable residence in the Spanish capital, as per Goal, has only intensified the rumour.
It is also claimed, though, that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has not yet made up his mind about his future, and the property could also just be a way of adding more real estate to his portfolio.
He is understood to be calm about his future despite his Paris Saint-Germain contract being set to expire in June 2022, and wants to focus on the remaining 2020/21 fixtures with Les Parisiens in order to lift the Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League trophies.
"I am in a period of reflection, but if I sign with PSG it is to be there for many years," he said recently, as quoted by Goal.
This statement seems to put pressure on Madrid, who have been courting him for a long time but have also been severely hit financially by the coronavirus pandemic.
For now, it seems to be a waiting game as Mbappe takes his time to make his decision.
