The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner was said to be keen on moving to Los Blancos, while Liverpool were also linked with his signature, with reports claiming their new kit sponsor Nike could potentially assist in making the deal happen.
However, the coronavirus pandemic has heavily influenced the financial situation of both clubs, and it seems a move for the 21-year-old would be unlikely in the upcoming window.
Mbappe himself has now also confirmed that he will stay at PSG beyond the 2019/20 campaign as he wants to lift more silverware with the French giants.
"I am here in Paris and I want to be part of the project," he said, as quoted by AS.

"I will be at PSG next season and I will try to win as many titles as possible.
"I am in the fourth year of the project. It is an important year as it is the 50th anniversary of the club.
"This is important in the eyes of the team and the fans, and I will try to win all the possible trophies and aim to do my best."
Mbappe and PSG still have three chances to lift a trophy this season: they are set to face Saint-Etienne in the Coupe de France final on Friday, then Olympique Lyon in the Coupe de la Ligue final on 31 July, before continuing their hunt for the UEFA Champions League title against Atalanta in August.
