French Ligue 1 Report: Paris Saint-Germain v Nantes 18 November 2017

French Ligue 1

Result: Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 Nantes

Date: 18 November 2017

Venue: Parc Des Princes, Paris

Paris Saint-Germain continued their impressive goalscoring form as they eased to a 4-1 victory against Nantes on Saturday evening.

PSG looked threatening in the early exchanges with Neymar Jr. and Edinson Cavani asking questions of the Nantes defence.

Nantes almost broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute after possession was won in midfield and Lucas Lima put in a cross at the far-post for Leo Dubois who side-footed his shot over Alphonse Areola's crossbar and out for a goal-kick.

Nantes' resistance was eventually broken as Edinson Cavani received a pass from Javier Pastore and the Uruguayan was left completely unmarked at the top of the penalty area as he duly converted to give PSG the lead in the 38th minute.

Angel Di Maria's ball into the box evaded everyone including goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu as it dribbled agonizingly into the Nantes net to double PSG's lead in the 42nd minute.

Claudio Ranieri started the second half with a tactical substitution, replacing Lucas Lima with Jules Iloki to boost his attack.

Prejuce Nakoulma scored within a minute of coming on as he was introduced in the 59 th minute and scored for his in the 60th minute to make it 2-1.

Unai Emery's charges responded quickly and regained their two-goal advantage after Marco Verrati played Pastore through on goal with the Argentine finishing calmly to make it 3-1 to PSG in the 65th minute.

Di Maria came close to scoring his side's fourth goal but saw his 73rd minute attempt hit the side-net.

Cavani got his name on the scoresheet in the 80th minute after another PSG flowing move saw the Uruguayan international extend his side's lead.

Unai Emery's players saw out the remaining minutes and ran out 4-1 winners and extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1.
