Date: 06 February 2019

Venue: Groupama Stadium

Paris Saint-Germain progressed to the next round of the Coupe de France after defeating third division outfit  Villefranche 3-0 in extra-time on Wednesday evening.

Thomas Tuchel opted leave Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe on the bench as Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting led the attack alongside Moussa Diaby and Christopher Nkunku.

Diaby had a good chance to stake his claim for regular game time with Neymar's absence, but his finishing left a lot to be desire when he fired wide with only the goalkeeper to beat after 14 minutes.

Despite running riot in Ligue 1 this season, PSG were finding it tough to break down the third division outfit for most of the first half.

The hosts went agonisingly close to taking a surprising lead five minutes into the second half when Lemb's effort from distance clipped the crossbar.

As PSG continued to struggle in the final third, Tuchel eventually withdrew Angel di Maria for Mbappe after the hour mark.

The chances started falling for the visitors in the latter stages of the half, with Mabppe sending a superb cross into the box which failed to connect with a teammate.

Neither side could find a winning goal in the closing stages of the half, forcing the encounter into extra-time. However, PSG go the breakthrough seven minutes into extra-time as Julian Draxler found the back of the net after some good work by Edinson Cavani.

The win was sealed in the second half of extra-time, with Diaby slotting home from close range after being teed up by Mbappe.

Cavani added the icing on the cake in the final minute to make it 3-0 on the night as defending champions march on to the next round.
