Two games into the new LALIGA season and it has become evident the 23-year-old Portugal international does not have a future at the Civitas Metropolitano.
The Viseu native returned to Diego Simeone's squad during the off-season following his six-month loan stint with Chelsea, but the animosity between the pair is seemingly at an all-time high, with neither party keen on continuing the relationship.
Barcelona appear to be the young attacker's likeliest next destination, with his agent, Jorge Mendes, keen to leverage his good relationship with the Catalan club's executives in order to land his client his desired move.
When the transfer market reopened, the 31-cap A Selecao star stated publicly that he would love to make the move to the Blaugrana, and Barca president Joan Laporta is said to be keen on making that a reality.
According to Mundo Deportivo, however, his arrival will likely be contingent on whether or not the club is able to sell either Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres or Abde Ezzalzouli.
The Spanish duo are rumoured to be reluctant to leave the Blaugrana, but in order to make the arrival of Felix fiscally viable, and for the club to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations, one of the aforementioned trio will have to leave if Felix is to arrive.
