With Eden Hazard struggling to live up to his club-record transfer fee at Real Madrid since arriving in Spain, here is the latest on the Belgian's future.
South American Country To Be Booted From World Cup?
It seems Hazard's time at the Santiago Bernabeu might finally be coming to an end. According to Super Deporte, club president Florentino Perez is ready to part ways with the 31-year-old.
The Belgian moved came to the Spanish capital with a massive reputation following his exploits at Chelsea, with Los Blancos paying a club-record €115 million (R1.9 billion) for his services, but the LaLiga champions are yet to see a real return on their investment.
Persistent injuries have prevented him from gaining any momentum at the club, although he has been able to show glimpses of his talents while in the Spanish capital, with his display against Celtic in the opening matchweek of this season's UEFA Champions League an example.
The diminutive winger was able to find the back of the net in that 3-0 win, but followed that up with a questionable display against Mallorca in LaLiga on Sunday.
Ruthless Real Reclaim Top Spot In Benzema's Absence
The Real hierarchy will be hoping to recoup a sizeable fee for Hazard as they reportedly look to bring in French sensation Christopher Nkunku as the Belgium international's replacement.
With the ex-Lille man off their books, the reigning Spanish champions would be able to spend the reported €60 million (R1 billion) needed to prise Nkunku from RB Leipzig.
