According to ESPN, the Gabonese striker's home in Castelldefels was targeted by a gang of armed men, with the 33-year-old and his wife said to have been tied up for a considerable amount of time during the robbery and reportedly threatened with guns and iron bars.
The French-born forward was also allegedly assaulted and forced to open a safe in which some valuable items were kept. The thieves are said to have stolen some jewellery before escaping in a white Audi.
This incident comes about two weeks after Aubameyang's new teammate Robert Lewandowski had his €70 000 (R1.1 million) watch stolen from his car as he was arriving for Barca training.
It has become more and more common for players' houses to be robbed in Spain, although the crimes usually happen when the footballers and their families are away during matches.
Among reported victims in the past were Casemiro, Alvaro Morata, Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Jordi Alba and former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane.
Aubameyang did not play in Barca's 4-0 LaLiga win over Valladolid on Sunday evening, and is among the players expected to be sold in the last few days of the transfer window in order to lessen the financial burden plaguing the Blaugrana.
