The 21-year-old was not included in the Barca squad for any of their three opening matches of the LaLiga campaign, a clear indication that his future lay elsewhere while Xavi Hernandez is in charge.

Milan reportedly have an option to make the deal permanent for a fee of €20 million (R344 million), but this is not mandatory.
