Greenwood Breaks Record At New Club Ahead Of Debut

Mason Greenwood's new club has reportedly sold more shirts with his name on the back of their jersey than anybody else in the club's history.

Mason Greenwood has reportedly already broken a record at his new club just days before he is poised to make his debut.

The circumstances that led to the 21-year-old's arrival at LALIGA outfit Getafe can perhaps be described as unique.

In early 2022, the forward was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control. Those charges would be dropped by the British authorities, however, after the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light.

United consequently conducted an investigation of their own after the charges were dropped, with the record Premier League champions later deciding to part ways with the Bradford native upon the conclusion of their inquiry.

All the commotion surrounding Greenwood seemingly did not deter Getafe from taking a chance on the young star, and their fans have welcomed him with open arms.

According to the Daily Mail, the forward has broken the club record for shirt sales as the hype surrounding him in the city continues to grow, with 4 000 supporters having been in attendance for his unveiling as the Azulones newest arrival two weeks ago.
