The Germany international saw his side get knocked out of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, when they lost 3-0 to Serie A side AS Roma in the second leg of their quarter-final, with the tie ending 4-4 on aggregate but the Italians going through via the away goal rule.

Ter Stegen was recently asked who he thought were the best goalkeeper in the game.

"(David) De Gea, (Manuel) Neuer, (Gianluigi) Buffon, Alisson, Ederson. I can't say who is the best, because all of them have their qualities. There are many goalkeepers out there who can make a difference," the German answered, as quoted by Marca.

"I can't say who is the best, each one has their own style of play, and is good for their own team."

Although Ter Stegen emphasised that there were many more goalkeepers out there, he failed to mention Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak, Real Madrid's Keylor Navas and Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois, who many feel are among, if not better than, those he did speak of.
