Manager Zinedine Zidane has seemingly found an in-house solution to Eden Hazard's ongoing injury struggles, with youngster Marvin Park starting in Real's 2-0 win over Getafe this week.
The 20-year-old winger, who has been with Real's Castilla side, which is coached by legendary striker Raul Gonzalez, for large parts of the campaign, impressed throughout his 55 minutes on the pitch.
Park has African heritage via his Nigerian father but was born in Mallorca, Spain, and has represented the European nation once at U19 level. However, he remains eligible to play for Nigeria at senior level.
With the youngster having made his first start for Los Blancos this week, he joins a relatively short list of African stars who have featured for Real.
One of the first names that comes to mind when thinking of African stars who have played for the Spanish giants is Mahamadou Diarra. The former Mali international made more than 100 appearances for the club and won two LaLiga titles during his time in Madrid.
Other African stars who have been on the books of the club include Michael Essien and Emmanuel Adebayor, both of whom enjoyed loan spells at the Santiago Bernabeu, while not many know that Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o actually started his senior career at Real before making his name at bitter rivals FC Barcelona later on.
