Reports: Ronaldo Told Ferguson 6 Weeks Ago He Wanted To Quit Real
According to the Daily Star, the Portuguese tactician apparently feels the Real Madrid superstar is using the English club to get more money out of Los Blancos.
Ronaldo is said to have told the Madrid side he wants to leave as he has had enough of the criticism he receives from some of his own club's supporters, and is also upset at being accused of tax fraud by Spanish prosecution authorities.
A source close to United and Mourinho has, however, stated that the Portugal captain will not return to his former club.
Asked if Mourinho expected Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford, the club insider said: "No. Ronaldo wants only money from Real, nothing more."
The 32-year-old spent six years at the Premier League giants before moving to the Santiago Bernabeu for a then world record fee of £80 million (R1.3 billion) in 2009.
