Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly chasing a Portuguese right back worth £30 million (R437 million).
Reports: Mourinho To Block CR7's Old Trafford Return
According to Portuguese publication Mundo Deportivo, the Red Devils are looking at signing Benfica defender Nelson Semedo.
The 23-year-old is apparently also being monitored by Spanish giants FC Barcelona and English rivals Manchester City.
It is believed that Benfica value Semedo at £48 million (R699.5 million), which is quite a bit higher than what United are said to be willing to pay for him.
The 2016/17 UEFA Europa League champions have already done business with the Portuguese champions in this window, having bought centre back Victor Lindelof from them last week.
City and the Blaugrana are expected to make bids for the young defender in the coming weeks, but some believe the player would prefer to join Mourinho's project at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils do currently have Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian and Axel Tuanzebe as options for the right back position, but the Italian could reportedly leave the club in this window, while Tuanzebe has only made four appearances for the senior team so far.

Semedo played 47 times for Benfica last season, scoring two goals and assisting 12 further strikes.
