Reports: FC Barcelona To Break Record For Frenchman

Reports: FC Barcelona To Break Record For Frenchman

FC Barcelona are reportedly ready to break a transfer record for a young France international.

Reports: Why Barca Want Ronaldo To Stay At Real

According to Bild, the Catalan club's sporting director, Robert Fernandez, is said to be a huge fan of Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele, and wants to lure him to Spain.

The possible transfer could be the largest sale in Bundesliga history, bigger than Kevin De Bruyne's August 2015 move from Wolfsburg to Manchester City, which cost the English giants €75 million (R1 billion).

The French star, who joined BVB from Stade Rennais at the beginning of the 2016/17 campaign, impressed in his first season in Germany, helping the team lift the DFB-Pokal trophy.

Barca have reportedly been monitoring the 20-year-old with a view to making him one of their marquee signings ahead of next season.

Pele: Ronaldo Definitely The Best In The World

Dembele scored 10 goals and assisted a further 21 strikes in 49 matches for Dortmund last season.
