Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed the names of two stars Los Blancos are monitoring, and Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea is not one of them.
The 70-year-old has confirmed that his club has been keeping a close eye on Monaco's Kylian Mbappe and AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Perez has explained that the Spanish giants have been watching Mbappe for quite a long time.
"Zidane saw him when he was 16 years old. Zidane liked him a lot," Perez told Onda Cero.
"We weren't on the edge of signing him, because of his age. If it's a community player he can get to the club from 16 years and if not a community player, starting at 18.
"Mbappe has some very good ways and surely he'll become one of the greatest. We are following him, of course."
The Real president also spoke about Italy's 18-year-old goalkeeper Donnarumma, who is almost certain to leave his Serie A club in the coming months.
"Everyone says he's a great player, he's going to be the substitute for Buffon," Perez continued.
"And he seems to have very good manners. Surely we are watching him. But we will not talk about what we are doing."
There was also confirmation that Los Blancos have not been in contact with United over the possibility of signing David de Gea this season.
"We haven't spoken to De Gea. Two years ago, we had an issue and then the appropriate circumstances didn't arise," Perez added.
"The players are very fond of Keylor and also the coach. I like Keylor Navas. Why he wanted De Gea before? Because Zinedine Zidane did not know him (Navas)."
