Cash-strapped FC Barcelona will still have to pay another £4.4 million (R90 million) to Borussia Dortmund for Ousmane Dembele.
The Blaugrana signed the French star back in 2017, and although they had to hand over a staggering £96 million (R1.9 billion), the deal was loaded with add-ons that could eventually take the fee up to £136 million (R2.7 billion).
The add-ons all relate to club and individual milestones, and one of those clauses saw a fee agreed for match appearances. According to the Daily Mail, Barca agreed to pay £4.4 million each time he completed 25 competitive appearances, up to his 100th competitive match.
This means that Dortmund recently cashed in on the player's 75th appearance, with the France star having played in 57 LaLiga encounters as well as 18 UEFA Champions League matches. He also has eight cup appearances to his name.
In total, Dembele has now featured 83 times for Barca, and the Bundesliga club will collect another £4.4 million once he hits a century of appearances.
Dembele was reportedly tracked by Manchester United in the previous transfer window, but a loan deal was said to fall through at the last minute.
It is claimed that both United and Arsenal continue to monitor his situation at the Camp Nou.
