LaLiga top goalscorer Robert Lewandowski has revealed how Lionel Messi reacted when he told him about his experience so far at Barcelona during a recent one-on-one conversation.

The Pole attended the Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony in Paris earlier this month, where he was seen chatting to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Messi on the red carpet ahead of the event.
The Argentine was named the 2023 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year following his excellent 2022 FIFA World Cup, claiming the accolade a second time.
Lewandowski has since detailed their discussion, revealing that Messi's eyes "lit up" when he spoke about his time at the Catalan club so far amid rumours the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner could return to his former club when his contract in France expires.

"Keep it a secret, but when I told him about Barcelona, his eyes lit up," he said in an interview with Interia Sport.
"And it's not surprising; after all, he grew up here, he has a house here that he visits often. Barcelona is his home."
Messi and the ex-Bayern Munich forward have previously been involved in a number of off and on-field disagreements, the most recent being during Poland's 2-0 loss to Argentina in the group stage at the World Cup in Qatar.
Lewandowski, though, has stated in recent weeks that he would love to play alongside the 35-year-old at Barcelona.

The striker has enjoyed a fruitful goalscoring campaign in Spain this season as he currently leads the Pichichi race, having scored 23 goals in LaLiga so far.
