This means the 34-year-old will play his final game at the Camp Nou this weekend, when champions Barcelona host Mallorca in LaLiga.
Alba, whose contract was only set to expire in 2024, joined the Blaugrana from Valencia in 2012 and has since amassed an incredible 458 appearances, winning 17 trophies in the process.
Barca said in a statement on their website:
"FC Barcelona would like to publicly express its gratitude to Alba for his professionalism, commitment and dedication, and his ever-positive and friendly relationship with all members of the Barça family, and wishes him every fortune in the future.
"Barca will always be a home for you, Jordi."
It has been reported that the Spain international will allow Barcelona to keep the wages he is owed, with it thought that his departure could bring the club a step closer to having LaLiga green-light their financial plans for the 2023/24 campaign.
