European Giant 'Monitoring' Sancho Situation

European Giant 'Monitoring' Sancho Situation

One of Europe's biggest sides is reportedly keen on bringing Jadon Sancho to the team this January.

One of Europe's biggest teams is reportedly keeping a close eye on Jadon Sancho's situation at Manchester United, with a view to signing him in the next transfer window.

In the past few weeks, the English attacker has been embroiled in a controversial stand-off with his manager Erik ten Hag.

The London native came off the bench in United's opening three league matches of the campaign, but was left out of the matchday squad completely for their game against Arsenal prior to the international break.

The Dutch tactician would go on to state that the winger's standards in training were not up to the level required, with Sancho later taking to X (formerly Twitter) to publicly refute his manager's sentiments, saying he was being made a scapegoat, which did not go down well at Old Trafford.

He has since been exiled from first-team training at the club "pending resolution of a squad discipline issue".

There would have been an assumption that, given the ex-Borussia Dortmund man's recent disciplinary issues, teams would be reluctant to enquire about his services, but according to Sport, Barcelona are admirers of the young star.

In recent transfer windows, the Blaugrana have bid farewell to the likes of Abde Ezzalzouli, Ansu Fati, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Philippe Coutinho, leaving them short of options on the left wing going into the 2023/24 campaign.

Xavi Hernandez seems to want to have more of a balance on his wings and, as per the same report, Barca will be looking to bring Sancho to the Camp Nou at the start of 2024 should there be no resolution to his situation at the Theatre of Dreams.
