The Argentine has been linked with a switch back to the Blaugrana ahead of the expiration of his deal at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of June.
Messi has not yet given any indication as to where his future lies, although it seems Barcelona are working hard to convince LaLiga that re-signing the 35-year-old will be financially possible for them.
Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets recently announced their upcoming departures from the club, with their exits reportedly set to help in raising funds to afford Messi.

According to Spanish publication AS, there is a chance the Argentine will be named as the team's captain should he return, amid suggestions nobody in the squad would contest his leadership.
Along with Alba and Busquets, Gerard Pique is also no longer a Barca player, leaving Sergi Roberto as the only remaining player from the side's four-man captaincy group heading into the 2023/24 campaign.
Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen replaced Pique in the leadership core following the Spaniard's January retirement, with Ronald Araujo and Robert Lewandowski thought to be candidates for next season.
