Felix is believed to be unhappy at Los Rojiblancos after he returned to the club from a six-month loan spell at Chelsea last season.
In July this year, the attacking midfielder said in an interview that he has always dreamed of playing for the Blaugrana, and it seems he could get his wish before the window slams shut.
Romano claims the LALIGA champions are working hard behind the scenes to ensure they meet Financial Fair Play requirements in striking a deal to sign the 23-year-old.
It is also said that the former Benfica prodigy would only consider joining other teams or moving to the Saudi Pro League if his desired switch to Barcelona falls through.

Felix, who is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, joined Atletico from the Eagles in 2019 for a club-record €127 million (R2.5 billion), and has since amassed 131 appearances for the Madrid club.
