On Thursday, the Royal Spanish Football Federation confirmed that the nation's Competition Commission had imposed a €300 (R4900) fine on Barca following irregularities in their deal to sign Griezmann from Atletico.

Barca were accused of manipulating circumstances in order to sign the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner for €80 million (R1.3 billion) less than his original release clause, but were only found guilty found guilty of speaking to the player outside of the transfer window.

Los Rojiblancos president Enrique Cerezo has since mocked the decision, and sarcastically feigned concern for the Blaugrana's ability to pay the fine during an appearance on El Larguero.

"I see you're very worried about this issue. I was listening to you in the car. How are you going to argue over 300 euros? You pay it and that's it, Cerezo said, as reported by Sport.

"We have it all very clear. We've left it in the hands of our legal team. I don't know if they have proof or not, but if they're working on it, it will be because they have something."

"If tomorrow you have two drinks and drive and the police stop you, it's 300 euros. It's the same. But I don't get involved in these things, that's what the lawyers are for. We have no problem with Griezmann."
