Last season, Morocco international Abde Ezzalzouli enjoyed a productive campaign with Osasuna as he helped them reach a Copa del Rey final.
With the 21-year-old having impressed during his loan stay in Pamplona, he would have likely hoped to be a key contributor upon his return to the Camp Nou, but according to the young attacker, he established that was not going to be the case, and as a result decided to leave Catalonia.
"From Barcelona they told me that they wanted me to stay. In the first three days I saw that I was not getting on. I was clear that I wanted to play from the start and I decided to go out," the forward said, as per Mundo Deportivo.
A number of clubs were reportedly interested in the Beni Melal native following his exploits last season, but he claimed further that he only wanted a move to the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
"From the first day I told him [Betis director of football Ramon Planes] that I only wanted to go to Betis," he added.
