FA Cup Wrap: Manchester City Advance, Tottenham Hotspur Eliminated

Manchester City were made to work for a spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals after edging Championship side Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Hillsborough.

After a goalless first stanza, Sergio Aguero eventually broke the deadlock for City eight minutes  the after break to seal the tie.

Tottenham Hotspur crashed out in the fifth round after going down to Norwich City in a penalty shoot-outs the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Jan Vertonghen gave Spurs an ealy lead in the 13th minute but Josip Drmic forced the game to extra-time with the equaliser for the visitors 12 minutes before time.

Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul was the hero in the penalty shoot-out, as he saved Gedson Fernandes and Troy Parrott's spot-kicks to inspire Daniel Farke's men to the quarter-finals.

Leicester City needed a late goal to progress to the quarter-finals with a narrow 1-0 win over Birmingham City at the King Power Stadium.

The Championship side frustrated Leicester in the first stanza but Ricardo Pereira netted the winner for Brendan Rodgers' charges with eight minutes left to clinch a spot in the quarter-finals.
