European Giants 'Contact' Man Utd Over Greenwood

European Giants 'Contact' Man Utd Over Greenwood

One of Europe's biggest clubs has reportedly made contact with Manchester United over Mason Greenwood's availability.

According to Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona have enquired over the 22-year-old's availability ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Club officials reportedly believe their financial situation makes Greenwood a realistic target, with the forward's deal in England expiring in 2025.

The Blaugrana are said to admire the player's versatility as he can play anywhere across the front line.

Greenwood has spent the current campaign on loan at Spanish minnows Getafe, for whom he has contributed to 13 goals across all competitions so far.

The report continues to say that the Catalan giants are yet to make "any firm commitments" over a potential pursuit of Greenwood, but adds that they have contacted United for more information.

Speaking recently about the one-time England international's future, LALIGA president Javier Tebas said he hopes to see the footballer in Spain next season again.

Clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have also been linked with his signature.

Greenwood was sent out on loan by United after the club decided he progress his career elsewhere following his arrest on suspicion of attempted rape in January 2022.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, will take on Everton in a must-win Premier League encounter on Saturday afternoon.
