With the PFA having announced the six nominees for both the PFA Players' Player of the Year and PFA Players' Young Player of the Year awards last week, Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante walked away with the main prize after what has been an impressive season so far for the Blues.

The holding midfielder beat his teammate Eden Hazard and Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the accolade.

"It's a huge honour to be chosen by the other players. It's really special to get this award. My first two seasons have been very beautiful. We have to finish well but so far it's a very good season," Kante said upon accepting his prize, as quoted by ESPN.

David Beckham won the PFA Merit Award for his contribution to the game, while Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli was named the PFA Players' Young Player of the Year.

He beat his teammate Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku, who claimed second and third place respectively, to the prize.
