The 27-year-old put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge on Friday, with reports suggesting he is now the club's highest-paid player.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea increased Kante's weekly pay from £150 000 (R2.67 million) to £290 000 (R5.16 million), which is more than what Eden Hazard receives.
"I'm happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come," the France midfielder told the club's official website.
"Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time."
Kante now earns almost a third more than Chelsea's second highest-paid star Hazard, who currently receives £200 000 (R3.56 million) but has rejected multiple offers to extend his stay with the Blues.
