The 10 Richest Owners In The Premier League

The 10 Richest Owners In The Premier League

With Chelsea now up for sale, here is a reminder of who the current 10 richest owners in the Premier League are, with the top spot belonging to the wealthiest group involved in football.

On Wednesday night, it was announced by Russian-Israeli billionaire Roman Abramovich that the London giants have officially been up for sale.

The move comes amid increasing pressure on the 55-year-old to hand over control of the club due to his alleged ties to Russia president Vladimir Putin, who, last week, announced an invasion of Ukraine that has since led to hundreds of deaths of innocent civilians.

At the moment, Abramovich, who took over the Blues in 2003, is the third-richest owner of a Premier League team, and is said to be looking to sell Chelsea for about £3 billion (R61 billion).

It is believed the businessman made most of his millions from proceeds he collected selling previously Russian state-owned assets he acquired following the fall of the Soviet Union, according to Bloomberg.com.
