Spotrac, which is one of the world's largest online sports team and player contract resources, recently compiled a list of the biggest-spending clubs in the Premier League based on salary payments.
Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have the biggest payroll this season, with Pep Guardiola's side set to fork out an estimated £145 million (R2.7 billion) on players' salaries.

City are followed closely by Manchester rivals United, who reportedly have a payroll of £141 million (R2.6 billion) for the campaign, a large portion of which covers the league-high £19.5 million (R366 million) annual contract belonging to David de Gea.
UEFA Champions League holders Liverpool, with an estimated payroll of £113 million (R2.1 billion), rank third, ahead of league rivals Chelsea, who are the only other club to break the £100 million-mark.
