FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed which South American star inspired him to move to the Premier League in 2011.
Reports: Chelsea Star To Join Mourinho At Man Utd
Suarez moved to English giants Liverpool from Ajax Amsterdam for £22.7 million (R495 million), and spent three years with the Reds.
The Uruguayan has now revealed that it was Argentine Carlos Tevez, who was playing for Manchester City at the time, who made him believe that he could be a success in England.
"When I was playing at Ajax, it was Carlos Tevez who inspired me to try to play in the Premier League," Suarez told ESPN.
"I would watch him and I would think, 'If Carlos can do that, why can't I? He is tiny against all those defenders.'"
The former Anfield star has had a fantastic season with the Catalan club, scoring 37 goals in La Liga.
"The entire team deserves the credit for my streak," Suarez added.
"Now, my teammates look for me because they know I am in the running. Leo (Messi) and Ney(mar) give me the penalty kicks.
"That shows that the team sees what I am capable of over these last few games, and they want me to score."
