Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who failed to win the Premier League during his time at the club, has reacted to Jurgen Klopp ending the Reds' 30-year wait to claim the league trophy.
'It's For Stevie' – Tearful Klopp On Liverpool's Title Win
The Reds were confirmed as champions when Chelsea beat Manchester City on Thursday night, winning the title for the first time since 1990.
While the streets of Liverpool erupted, and Klopp tearfully dedicated the trophy to some club legends, Gerrard took to Instagram to react to the historical achievement.
"Congratulations to all Liverpool on winning the premier league. Incredible achievement from a fantastic squad of top players," he wrote.
"Led by a world-class manager and coaching team, also a special mention for the backing from FSG. And lastly and most importantly, the fans who have waited 30 years. Let the party begin."
Liverpool Squash EPL Record, Can Break Four More
Gerrard went close to winning the title on a number of occasions in his career, but arguably never closer than in the 2013/14 campaign.
