Manchester United turned down the opportunity to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus because for his £60 million price tag.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils were given the chance to negotiate a deal for Reus after the German club took Adnan Januzaj on loan for the season.
It's believed Dortmund insisted the starting price would have to be £60 million.
Manager Louis van Gaal and Manchester United, who were willing to offer as much as £50 million for the player, were reportedly not happy with the German club's valuation.
The Dutchman told members of the media he was keen to add firepower to his squad, but it seems he is happy with just the capture of Monaco starlet Anthony Martial.

United reportedly paid a fee of £36 million for the young Frenchman, with sources telling ESPN FC Monaco upped their price for the 19-year-old by £15 million because they knew the Old Trafford club were after a forward, with Wayne Rooney being the only senior striker in the squad.
