Remember When Zlatan Ibrahimovic Called Pep Guardiola A 'Spineless Coward'?

Do you remember when Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic called Pep Guardiola a "spineless coward" during their time together at FC Barcelona?

The Swede joined the Catalan giants for £57 million (R1 billion) from Inter Milan in 2009, a move that saw Samuel Eto'o go the other way.

However, his time at the Camp Nou did not go as planned and his relationship with Guardiola got worse every week until Ibrahimovic confronted the boss after Barca's UEFA Champions League exit against Jose Mourinho's Inter.

"Guardiola was staring at me and I lost it," the 33-year-old recalled in his book, I Am Zlatan.

"I thought, 'There is my enemy, scratching his bald head!' I yelled: 'You haven't got any b***s!' and worse than that, I added: 'You can go to hell!'

"I completely lost it, and you might have expected Guardiola to say a few words in response, but he's a spineless coward."

Ibrahimovic, who is one of the few players who played under both Guardiola and Mourinho, also compared the two top managers, insisting they are completely different.

"Jose Mourinho is Guardiola's opposite," he added.

"If Mourinho brightens up the room, Guardiola pulls down the curtains and I guessed that Guardiola now tried to measure himself with him (Mourinho)."

Ibrahimovic scored 22 goals and assisted 14 strikes in 47 appearances for the Catalan giants, but left the club after just one season to join AC Milan.
