Foster's Burnley Bag First Win, Arsenal Move Top

Arsenal 5-0 Leeds United

Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League table with a 5-0 thrashing of newly-promoted Leeds United on Saturday evening.

Gunners coach Mikel Arteta gave a full debut to Noni Madueke, who replaced Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank while Jurrien Timber was brought back into the side after the win over Manchester United.

After a quiet opening, the hosts got the opening goal on 34 minutes from another set-piece as Jurrien Timber nodded home a corner from Declan Rice.

The lead was doubled just before the halftime break when Jurrien Timber turned provider to play in Bukayo Saka, who rifled the ball into the roof of the net.

The Gunners added a third goal three minutes after the break when Viktor Gyökeres surged into the box before firing in at the near post to open his account for the club.

Timber rounded off an impressive evening for himself and the Gunners when he completed his brace in the 56th minute, before Gyökeres got a brace of his own by converting a penalty in second-half stoppage time.

Burnley 2-0 Sunderland

Burnley secured their first win of the Premier League season after defeating fellow promoted side Sunderland 2-0 at Turf Moor.

South Africa international Lyle Foster maintained his spot in the starting line-up following the loss to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, while the Black Cats were looking to build on their big against West Ham United last weekend.

Foster had the ball in the back of the net after 18 minutes, but the celebrations were cut short as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) disallowed the goal for offside.

Burnley got the opening goal two minutes after the break when Josh Cullen opened his account for the season with a lovely curling finish.

Brentford 1-0 Aston Villa

Brentford bagged their first win of the season after edging Aston Villa 1-0 at the GTECH Stadium.

The hosts bagged the game's only goal on 12 minutes when new signing Dango Ouattara marked his home debut with a goal by racing clear of the Villa defence and firing home.

Villa, meanwhile, have just one point from their opening two matches.

Bournemouth 1-0 Wolves

AFC Bournemouth got their campaign up and running with a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Cherries got the breakthrough after just four minutes when Marcus Tavernier pounced on a pass from Antoine Semenyo before rifling the ball beyond Jose Sa.

The visitors, meanwhile, had to finish the game with ten men after Toti Gomes was given his marching orders for picking up his second yellow card of the contest.
