Kevin de Bruyne was visibility not happy about being taken off in the defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Pep Guardiola has now explained the reason behind the substitution.

The Citizens lost further ground on Premier League leaders Liverpool after a letting a two-goal lead slip in a 3-2 defeat to Wolves.
With the visitors leading 2-1 and playing with ten men, Guardiola opted to withdraw the Belgian for Illkay Gundogan with over 20 minutes remaining.
De Bruyne was left puzzled by the incident and vented his frustration when walking towards the bench, but Guardiola defended his decision after the game.
When asked why the player was taken off, he said,"We have less than 48 hours for our next game."

Guardiola added that the goals scored by Wolves could have been avoided, despite playing with a man down.
"It is always what it is. We could not defend it at the end, they fought incredible, ran until the last minute," he said, as per the Mirror.
"The goals could have been avoided."
