Premier League giants Chelsea have now announced their seventh signing of the transfer window, taking their total spending to about €250 million.

The London club has now confirmed the arrival of 28-year-old Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy at a fee of €24 million (R464 million) from Stade Rennes.

Mendy impressed in Ligue 1 last season, and has been brought in due to Kepa Arrizabalaga's struggles between the poles.
