Matija Nastasic has played for some of Europe's biggest clubs. Starting out as a prodigious young talent at Red Star Belgrade, he moved to Fiorentina as a teenager, becoming one of Serie A's rising superstars.
In 2012, a significant transfer to Manchester City followed, where he spent three years and captured a Premier League title during the 2013/14 season.
Subsequent moves to Schalke, Fiorentina and Mallorca ensued, and now the Serbian defender plies his trade at Leganes in LALIGA.
This weekend, the Valjevo native faces Barcelona, one of Europe's most prolific sides. Ahead of the clash, Soccer Laduma asked the 31-year-old about his career experiences, including the best African player he's played with.
Having shared dressing rooms with renowned African talents such as Ghana's Kevin-Prince Boateng and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations winner Sebastien Haller, Nastasic named his pick.
He said: "All of them are top, top-quality players, but if I have to say one, during my seasons at Manchester City, Yaya Toure was at a very top level.
